On 3rd July, Starbucks China announced that from now on, its official takeout distribution channel “special star” delivery fee adjustment, delivery fee from 9 yuan per order down to 7 yuan per order, some goods are charge 1 yuan per package fee, each package fee capped at 2 yuan.

Starbucks sell handmade drinks, baked salad and other food items, it will charge 1 yuan per package fee, while packaged food, bottled beverages, coffee beans, hanging ear coffee, cups etc., do not need to charge additional packaging fees.

If consumers in Shenzhen need to use cutlery, such as forks and knives, they need to pay an extra 0.5 yuan per tableware, while consumers in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other places do not need to pay extra fees. In this regard, Starbucks explained that this is mainly in accordance with relevant provisions of the “Shenzhen Municipal Household Waste Classification Management Regulations” to collect.  

In the third-party delivery platform, Starbucks will also start to charge a packaging fee of 1 yuan, but the packaging fee is not capped, which means the more drinks you buy, the higher packaging fee need to pay. From Starbucks China official customer service, he says the adjustment is a comprehensive assessment of the cost structure of the deliver business, operating costs and other factors, through these assessments, Starbucks China decided to make details of price adjustment.
